WHO WE ARE
We are a church made up of a bunch of regular people with different personalities and backgrounds who share something major in common; our love for Jesus. While we enjoy the unique way God made each of us, we also celebrate how he has brought us together to be a faith family. Our desire is simply to grow closer to Him, and to serve His creation. We recognize that without Jesus, we are desperately lost and without hope, and that transformation and new life comes through faith in Him.
We are NOT a church that exists primarily for Sunday mornings. We recognize that God calls us to be part of a church, but He wants more than just one hour of our lives each week.
We want to get to know YOU and walk through the ups and downs of life with you. We recognize that this will look different for each person. Let’s celebrate our lives in Christ and discover our individual gifts and collective purpose together!
OUR MISSION
God’s mission for Tabor comes from the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-29, "18 Jesus came and told his disciples, 'I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
TABOR IS A VIBRANT, INCLUSIVE, FAITH-FILLED CHURCH PLACED IN THE CITY BY GOD WHO SENDS US OUT TO MAKE DISCIPLES THROUGH BAPTISM AND TEACHING.
OUR VISION
God has not changed, but the world around us has. We realize that the church is no longer the center of the culture and that our neighbors are not in search of answers from the Bible. Still, our world needs the peace that only God can give. Armed with this information, we took time to discern God's will for Tabor in our community. God led us to the following vision where we join Jesus on his mission to seek and save the lost,
GOD'S LOVE MOVES US TO WORK FOR THE WHOLENESS AND HEALING OF OTHERS THROUGH PERSONAL, MEANINGFUL, INCLUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS THAT INFLUENCE THE COMMUNITY OUTSIDE OF OUR CHURCH'S WALLS.
